At 16 years old, this malt is already well matured, bringing with it a complex wealth of flavors. Above all, the fruit cocktail that can be perceived in the nose is overwhelming. These fruits come into their own after adding a few drops of water. This malt is a good example of the potential of a good bourbon cask. Only the bitter hop aroma takes some getting used to.

    • Nose
The start is strong and dominated by fruit. These fruits are difficult to define at first, as they hide under a light but not too strong alcoholic note. Gradually ripe apples and pears can be identified. On the other hand, there is a clear bitter aroma reminiscent of heavily hopped beer. Over time, the aroma becomes sweeter with almonds, marzipan and caramel.
    • Taste
Due to its high alcohol content, it also has a strong start on the tongue, but it is significantly sweeter than on the nose. You can also find ripe, red apples here and some coffee and cappuccino are added to the tart hop note, which is also evident here.
    • Finish
In its long finish it is clearly sweeter, with a slight bitterness of the oak.

      With water:
It becomes significantly sweeter with an association of cotton candy and opens up its complex fruitiness in the aroma, expanding the palette to include exotic fruits and sweet berries. In the mouth, too, it is now significantly sweeter with an almost syrupy, watery mouthfeel. Exotic fruits can also be found here.
