  1. Calmar scored this whisky 92 points Connoisseur

A great mole - flavor, taste and finish all as for selection: powerful, deep, complex and perfectly balanced; very harmoniously, richly, the mass of various components is united in a single canvas, and this canvas is not static, it changes, opens new faces and combinations - perfectly. The only question on the barrel, what did they mean by "seasoned designer hogshead"?
    • Nose
Open, dry, spicy processed wood, vanilla, sweet wool, dried fruits, white raisins, in the background mineral notes - drying plaster, flint, Bengal lights, a little sulfur; vegetable shades - daikon, margelan radish; carpentry notes - resin, solvent, glue; raw tin; pu er, fried nuts, all this is bordered by a barely perceptible smoky shroud, on the whole, deeply and comprehensively, interestingly.
    • Taste
Powerful, dense, sweet, spicy oak, slightly burnt wood, burnt biscuits, caramel, oily hues, peppery wave, sweet caramel-cream roll, then oranges and lemon jam on toasted toast - fabulously good.
    • Finish
Spicy, warming, scorched oak, burnt caramel, burnt crackers, leavard, earth notes, pu er, orange peel, orange jam, sweet confectionery, dried fruits, raisins, a little daikon, grilled peaches.

    SMWS Tasting Notes
    Colour: Dundee marmalade
    Flavour: Spicy & sweet

We found ourselves in a waiting room of a sports physiotherapist, muscle spray, shea butter, massage oil and warming up cream, next to a disinfected tiled floor and a newly opened First Aid Box. To taste, we moved into the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas with belly dancers and an oriental market - hot like a desert and intense like Turkish delight with rose water - intriguing depth. With water the nose led us into a Victorian walled garden, damp bricks, herbal notes and the smell of a variety of roses. The taste is now like toasted cinnamon bread with butter, an apple crumble with cream and the enticing sweetness of a ripe mango.

Drinking Tip: Whilst reading a book, preferably the Tale of 1001 Nights
