Whisky Reviews for Caol Ila 2004 vW
6 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 82.33 points
- Blind tasting of a sample. It reminded me both of Caol Ila and od Cooley, i.e. the fruity sweetness (especially in the nose) makes it seem like an Irishman.
Very sweet initially: wine gums, lime, pear, peach, apple and vanilla. Then caramel, milk chocolate and eventually a good portion of peat. It takes a while for the peat to kick in though.
Pear, milk chocolate, peat, peach, raspberry and vanilla.
Milk chocolate, caramel and peat. The fruitiness which is so prominent at first doesn't stick.
- N: smoke, oily, even fruity, rum, chocolate and briny
T: salty, smoke and briny - oysters
F: meaty and bitter fruits
- Full peated Saint & Peat Caol Ila 2004, A aromas of dried fruit and
raisins. The full peat and smoke there is room for many tones of apricot wood.
This year the Saint & Peat year 2004 with an alcohol content of 46%. the fine
of this whisky is matured in sherry casks, which give him something soft and sweet.
