What a blast! This 19-year-old Glendronach has plenty of "buzz" and power. Intense and strong oak flavors, fruity sweetness and this incredible sherry aroma make this Glendronach a real pleasure. A great malt, I like it very much!
    • Nose
Velvet brown and radiantly clear the Glendronach shines in the glass, a reddish shimmer breaks in the rusty brown. Strong and dark sherry aromas stand out on the first nosing. Dark berries, dried raisins and dates exude an intense fruit aroma. Plums and old orange peel mix, dark chocolate rises from the fruit mixture. The salivation is massively stimulated by this beguiling aroma, toasted aromas and a hint of roasted almond emerge. The 53.7% alcohol content is slowly becoming noticeable, I can not smell enough of this intense and strong Sherrynase ...
    • Taste
Wow, intense and fruity oak beats on the palate. The dark berries and dark chocolate follow before suddenly peppery pungency sets in. The alcohol now shows its full power and heats the palate properly. The second sip starts creamy, espresso powder falls on the tongue, a pinch of pepper heats the sharpness again. Spicy and dark wood tones now dominate the taste together with the dried raisins and dates. Despite the high alcohol content and the resulting sharpness, I deliberately forego the addition of water. With subtle bitter and tart wood notes, the taste goes into the finish.
    • Finish
The bitter and harsh wood tones of the taste exude a dry woody aroma at the beginning of the finish. Spice and tart fruit flare up briefly, espresso aroma mixes with dark chocolate. The powerful finish sounds slow and a tart and fruity note of Hoznote remains in the memory for a long time.
