From a 2012 bottle. Pours very pale straw, among the palest of whiskies I`ve seen lately. Nose is big oyster, sea brine, something I will call iodine. First sip is fairly straightforward salt and citrus sweets, maybe taffy. Opens up nicely, with lots of grain complexity, grapefruit rind, big briny and raw shellfish notes. Roasted nuts. Light body, though nicely pungent. Spicy, salty, with a touch of lemon candy on the finish.
