This will bake your brain, it smells like old Mortlach but drinks like fresh youthful Glengoyne. It's such a Chameleon and it's so worth seeking out some of the odd single bottles that these guys produce.
    • Nose
      88 88
he nose is sticky sweet sherry, pork fat and a thick torrent of suet pudding. Dense cake and spice, coffee cake and mace or clove. This actually smells sort of gross, thick oily and dark with a huge whacking freshness.... I kind of love it.
    • Taste
      89 89
The sherry dominates the nose... The malt claims the palate. Freshness is the key here... There's a huge Sherry cake note... Ignore that for now. There's also chestnut and Graham cracker, Oolong tea leaves and fresh paint. Mechanics gloves and cordite ropes, this is a brain scrambler. There's something so much lighter about the palate than the nose leads on about.
    • Finish
      88 88
The finish is short still, but very full. More and more the sherry almost takes over... But that malt fights back hard. Candied chestnuts and struesel topping, baked oats and oily tools.
