    • Nose

      Beautiful rich sherry tones.
    • Taste
      85 85
Richness falls, abv problem. Becomes a bit lighter and even watery.
    • Finish
      85 85
Long and best complex. Initially somewhat mediocre by low abv. The longer you let the dram circulate in your mouth, the more stimulating and intense the taste becomes.

  2. Allandale scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

8 years american oak,4 years european oak.
    • Nose
Rich tones from sherry, dried fruit with oranges, honey, vanilla, toffee and wood.
    • Taste
Rich honey sweetness, with a under taste  from sherry, spicy hints and long rich tones : vanilla and oak.
    • Finish
Complex and long. Oaky, fruity sweetness.

  3. André scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

A very successful (and layered) creation. A good example of a proud whisky. How great will he be if he is also cast firmly?

Tasty Whisky Festival 2016. Great surprise for me. It is an original, uncompromising concept of sherry style, great, I would definitely take a bottle. Who would have said that to the boys from North Brabant?
    • Nose
Strongly chocolate, with bobbling and menthol freshness. The smell is very strong, sweet, pleasantly woody, cinnamon, warm. (88 b)
    • Taste
Wow! Brutal leach from sherry drums. A lot of wood, but without bitterness. Strong chocolate, pile of tanned wood. There is glamor, there is windmill and burnt toast, but it's all on sherry in an extremely dense form. (88 b)

My first Dutch malt and I really enjoyed this. Had heard a lot of good comments about it and was not left disappointed. Opened it at a party and even the non-whisky drinkers enjoyed nosing and tasting it.
    • Nose
Heavily sherried nose with plump raisins, fruit cake and pecans. A very nice nose.
    • Taste
Sherry very prominent. Fruitcake, mulled wine spice, dark chocolate and hazelnuts
    • Finish
A spicy medium finish but still sherry dominates. Chocolate nuts arrive at the end

With the level about half-way the bottle the ‘nose’ has improved a lot. Distinctive sherry notes such as raisins, nuts, chocolate, figs. I like it.

  7. Magnus Hillman scored this whisky 84 points Expert Senior

My first Millstone, nice expression, I'm impressed. Had some excellent whiskies before this one, HP Loki and Laphroaig 25 which have influenced my experience. Need more time with this.(rating interval 82-86)
    • Nose
Dark sherry, raisins, walnuts, dark plums, distinct oak and brown sugar.
    • Taste
Malty with dried figs, dades mixed with blackberry candy, fresh leather and nutty wood.
    • Finish
The finish is rather long with cinnamon, allspice and dry wood. There is something artificial in the finish that is difficult to identify at this point. A true mystery.

Prima whisky. Tasted on a blind tasting. Not expected that this bottle came from the Netherlands.
    • Nose
Hmmm, delicious nose. Clear sherry. I have a sweet nose with caramelized banana, roasted chestnuts, dried fruit (dates, prunes) some cedar and a slight spiciness (cinnamon)
    • Taste
On the 'palate' I get a clear taste of nuts (delicious), Liège apple syrup, caramel, red fruits, another hint of cinnamon, a slight oakiness and even a slight hint of smoke (?)
    • Finish
Pretty long finish that slowly goes out. After a few minutes I still have a nice taste in my mouth.

Nose: Green apples, nuts (very clear), some wax. It`s fruitier after a few minutes. After a few drops of water I smell honey. It becomes much fruitier and the nuts are almost gone completely.

Taste: I can be brief here. Ditto. Only I tasted some bananas and a little bit of vanilla (so I thought anyway).

Finish: soft, sweet, fruity, quite long.

  10. Sonett scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
A fruity nose where the wine comes through clearly but not at all intense. There is also a vague background of immatureness (new make)
    • Taste
Enters fruity and round, turns into peppery spices
    • Finish
Medium long to long, dominated by spices and fading out in a light touch of drying bitter almonds
