Whisky Reviews for Kilchoman 100% Islay

Soft smoke with overwhelm of coconut fragrance. After the initial hit,
get the pungent of soft pepper , and lightly mossy.
Palate:- Ashy, grassy, green and hint of coal.
Finish:- Medium finish, rusty mineral and quite chewy. But feel a bit flat some where, something is missing...lack some kick.
— at The Whisky Bar, Kuala Lumpur.
peat, sea weed, ash, vanilla
charcoal smoke, peat, sweet vanilla
medium long, smokey and sweet
- Hay, ham, manure and a young porridgy sweet character.
I like the nose; the simple young farmy islay style.
Peat smoke, citrus, lemon, pears
Peat, sweet, fruity
Medium long, pure, fresh
- A Kilchoman without subtleties (there still young and without sherry influences), but everything crystal clear and pure - I just think wonderful!
There he is immediately, the Kilchoman enjoyment: slightly peaty, but especially this smell dominating citrus fruits, fruitiness, everything slightly clinking
ashen, peaty, pearly, lemony, peppery ...
All this will be on the finish again, easily rearing up again
- Tasted at a liquor store in the Eastern part of The Netherlands.
Suprisingly fresh, fruity, malty sweetnes with a nice touch of peat smokey flkavors.
Very promissing and very enjoyable for a very young malt whisky.
