When you smell this whisky for the first time, your nose wings will fly wide open! A smell of soft thick smoke flies in with a bit of stale air, sweetness and the smell of earth.
Deeper in the whisky is clearly a little pepper.
The peat gives you a tap on your nose every time you smell it!
I also think the whisky smells a little bit salty and like a lemon.
Time for the first sip.
Clear pepper on the tongue. A sweet gust of smoke slides through your mouth. That this whisky is well-surfaced is now very clear if it was not yet haha.
A bit overwhelmed by everything, I forget what I can taste. So another sip after it.
Clear the lemon that is present.
Chocolate, menthol and fried bacon.
Cinnamon and toffee
The longer you taste with this whisky, the more you can get out of it. Gosh, this is a pretty complex whisky.
The aftertaste builds itself nicely and then decreases. You will enjoy the high peat content for a long time to come! In the aftertaste, a coffee-like taste comes up for me every now and then, but the smoky really has the upper hand.
