    [Blindtasting Notes]
    • Nose
On the first impression a young smoker without much influence of wood, unfortunately not my favorite style. Quite sweetish-sour and, due to the low age, there is also something yeasty, fermented, fermented. Score would always be in my low 80s for something like that. But let's see what the palate is saying ... Yeah, okay, it's really awesome, and now more complexity comes into my nose - and a bit of a farm. ;) I increase this to about 87 points, maybe even 88. It's crazy how the nose can sometimes benefit from the aromas that quasi rise back up the throat. With water he might even win another point. Open up great. Sure, he's still noticeably a teenager, but the smoke has now become so aromatic and complex, downright lovely and beguiling ... Oh fuck, I better stop now before I go into raptures and my initial rejection only overtakes me and looks embarrassing.
    • Taste
Okaaaaaaay, I see where the journey is going. That didn't work out so well last time with the smoking guess, but I prefer not to learn from my mistakes, live dangerously and say this is a Lagavulin 12 yo in cask strength from the Diageo Special Releases. Very sweet, full, already dangerously drinkable when completely undiluted, everything goes well with Lagavulin. Trend 88 points. I don't really want to dilute it, but what can you do for science ... And lo and behold, it's a swimmer. Becomes extremely oily and creamy with water (but please not too much!). I'm already looking forward to the second half of my sample.
    • Finish
      Endlessly natural, sweet and spicy.
