  1. dram-drinker scored this whisky 95 points Connoisseur

Wha, these old Macallans are really great - even so it is not declared it tastes like from the 50s or 60s - very close to the 1952 or 1954. Anyways, flabbergasting! 95 Points!

This was the first sample of two from two different bottles with the same label (but liter size).
    • Nose
      96 96
Toffee galore, dried fruits, plums, dates, figs, nutmeg, old sherry wood, hints of coffee, chocolate, whiffs of leather and smoke, acacia honey, some gunpowder - this is just excellent!
    • Taste
      95 95
Punchy, oily, creamy, very liquorice, good sweetness, more dried fruits, more toffee and coffee, spices, nutmeg, cloves, milk chocolate, more old and heavy sherry wood - superb!
    • Finish
      95 95
Long, warm, spicy, sweet, more dried fruits and heavy sherry notes
