    • Nose
Color: shiny furniture polish, shiny dark copper, mahogany

Nose: first of all a slightly sour start in the nose. Tannins, leather. Oak, yellowed book, beautiful and old. Somewhat old workshop, some oil in the air, old iron. There is a basket next to the workbench. Forget about overripe and rotten peaches ... Slightly tropical hints of good old sherry.
Slightly tangy like passion fruit. Heavy and set despite the "only" 15yo. Linseed oil, bitter almonds and brown, caramelizing sugar ... Gun oil, after cleaning, there are remains of the burnt black powder.

The empty glass ...... wow what a great smell.
Nobody wants this glass to be empty, but then, as a kind of consolation, this scent again ..... Sherry, wood and hazelnuts.
    • Taste
gentle acidity. Leather, nutmeg, sherry, old paper - in the background it has darker tones, lovage, Sanostol. The full oak load. Amazing after only 15yo. Blind the oak could easily pass as 35+. Pepper and herbs. Overall soft as butter.

A really nice old board. Not too overloaded with sherry, but still clear enough to have all the benefits of an old sherry bomb ready.
    • Finish
      Rather long.

This Speyburn has a very hot nose. He also looks significantly older than 15 years. It was an honor for me to try something from 1968.
    • Nose
      Colour:
      Very dark amber tone

      Nose:
First, welcome a leather, brown sugar and dried fruit. Olive oil comes after. Then we start with figs, marzipan, nectarines, cherries, milk chocolate and a nice smell of warm chestnuts. Grapes are noticeable. Has just something of brandy for me. Then it gets drier. Old oak cabinet and matching sour oak notes.

If you smell directly on the empty glass, you can smell Nutella, hazelnuts, cherries and leather, before the scent passes at some point with furniture polish.
    • Taste
Very spicy start with neat ginger. It follows bitter oak. Has something old, dusty in the taste. Dry soil and other mineral notes come through. Herbs follow. Some lovage and dry tobacco. He just tastes old. Fermented berries, raisins and dark cherries. This delicate taste of olive oil sits right behind it.
    • Finish
Rather long. Espresso, dark chocolate, herbs and again the ginger. In the end, if you think that's it, an oil film forms and sticks in your mouth.
