Whisky Reviews for Tomatin 1989 GM

2 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 83.67 points

  1. dramspotter scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

A quiet stunner which initially I didn't realise as over 20 years old; it doesn't have any great flash, but for its age and strength it has this quiet quirky malty fruity confidence - not in-your-face fruit, just delicate floral fruit.
    • Nose
gloriously sweet (yeah you cannot nose sweet), not quite fruit, not quite cereal, floral? Is that maltiness already? I have more questions than answers on the nose - it is rather excellent and intriguing
    • Taste
yes it is going to be watery but there is some elegance in there; soft fruit like kiwifruit along with a lacing of caramel
    • Finish
short to start with, but improving a little in length; I don't get a sense this is a Hogshead; malt and cereal coming through

  2. Master Quill scored this whisky 82 points Expert Senior

Gordon & MacPhail code: AA/AFCB (AA being 11, for 2011)
