The peat is very apparent but so are the typical Jura characteristics. This one is quite dry without any fruitiness really, but still very good. I like it both neat and slightly reduced.
    • Nose
Tobacco, salt, quite a salty earthy peat at the foreront. Many cracked peppercorns, rich honey, a little milk powder, sunflower oil. Pretty spicy and slightly floral. There's a note similar to gunpowder but it's not sulphuric. Old wood, chalk, suggestions of a fruitiness.
    • Taste
White pepper, honey, some earthy peppery peat, black pepper. Quite lactic as Jura usually is. Some sunflower oil (another trademark Jura flavour), chalk, spicy old wood, a bit salty.
    • Finish
Salty liquorice, chalk, menthol, paraffin wax, honey, subtle white fruits, pepper, earthy peat. The classic Jura sunflower oil and milky note. Good stuff.

With water, the nose becomes waxy and the palate a bit sweeter, with subtle fruitiness (pineapple, grapefruit rind), but slightly less powerful.
