All in all, a thoroughly exciting Bunnahabhain. The distillery character is unmistakable but unfortunately it lacks a bit of structure. Still worth tasting again and again...
    • Nose
      84 84
Very fresh, citrusy and salty. Also fresh yeast dough, sweet syrupy notes and seaweed and slightly sooty accents. Needs some water: With water: Maritime, lots of seaweed, salt, but also mint, almost even After Eight bars, yeast dough again, a few splashes of papaya syrup and a meaty note that is reminiscent of glazed ham.
    • Taste
      84 84
Salt, malt, nut shells, light herbal notes, whole grain bread, some seaweed, soot and again slightly meaty cooked ham-like accents. With water: salty and quite herbal. Gentle smoke, cooked ham again, soot, wholemeal bread, nuts and slightly tropical reflections.
    • Finish
      82 82
Medium length, lots of nutty malt, salt and a hint of peat
