  1. Whisky_Art scored this whisky 88 points Expert Junior

The one that convinced me the most of the three, taking its risks boldly and delivering results, with a few minor flaws that can be overlooked given the overall enjoyment of the dram.
    • Nose
Wood spices in abundance, flooding the nose and leading you to a bakery where cinnamon rolls and dark bread have just come out, to the point that at times it seems like there’s a rye whisky in the glass. Nutmeg, cinnamon, and black pepper dominate the initial notes, accompanied by maple syrup, muscovado sugar, orange marmalade, and gingerbread. Over time, the spicy punch softens in favor of warmer tones, including caramel, coffee, dark chocolate, marzipan, and hazelnuts. The addition of water greatly dampens the spices, bringing forward red fruits, ripe cherries, and butter, overturning the balance. The marriage between the casks works, albeit subtly, to the extent that it is disrupted with dilution.
    • Taste
Energetic and roaring, with spices triumphantly entering the palate, always led by nutmeg, black pepper, and cinnamon, with a hint of chili and cumin. Beautifully oily, coffee and chocolate stand out more in the sip, along with a pronounced injection of rye bread, maple syrup, and caramel. A corollary of candied orange, liqueur cherries, a pinch of salt, and a lavender aftertaste. Here too, water brings detriment, overly soothing the whisky.
    • Finish
Long and salty, among spices, coffee, cocoa, nuts, cane sugar, maple syrup, ripe cherries.
