  1. MaltMartin scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

My bottle contribution to the Vintage Group comparison tasting on single grain whisky's 1960s versus 1970s in the fall of 2022. Skip the boring nose, go directly to the more enjoying palate.
    • Nose
A bit shy in the beginning, with lots of woodiness of cedar wood, saw dust and pencil shavings with a metallic edge. Cereal. It takes some time to discover gentle vanilla and hints of honey-heather. Also sultana and a little toffee in at the background.
    • Taste
This is more to my liking; plenty of sweetness of fudge and butterscotch. Followed by bananas, dried coconuts and marzipan. Turkish Delight. Lots of cake mix and candy-floss. Ginger bread with cinnamon as well. Robust grain whisky.
    • Finish
Medium long. Sweetness of cinnamon. A little white pepper. Gentle and soft.
