On the nose: old bottle of effect, marzipan, walnuts and wet wood. Gammon, chocolate, tobacco, raspberry and vanilla. Ashes in parts, toffee, fresh basil, leather and moss.

In the mouth: nutty, a touch of sulphur in a good way, red berries and fruity. Candy floss, cherry, golden syrup and blood orange. Meatiness again, toffee and dried fruits.

    My thoughts
You don’t come across this style very often these days. It’s funny how the 90s can feel so far away when it comes to whisky. That’s what makes whisky so special, you can travel through time while sitting in your favourite chair. It’s a journey that’s always worth embarking on.
