  1. MaltMartin scored this whisky 91 points Connoisseur

A very delicate and enjoyable Glenrothes from the mid-1970s. It reminds me of the current undisclosed Speysiders from 1990 which are rumored to be Glenrothes as well.
    • Nose
Starts with subtle flowery notes of orchards, orange blossoms and roses. Some leafiness of hay and heather. Followed by hints of lemon, kumquats, and tangerines. Chamomile and beehive. White grapes and kaki-fruit as well. Some juicy mineral notes of wet stones, and chalk in the background. Lovely.
    • Taste
Quite waxy and creamy. Again plenty of citrus notes; kiwi fruit, gooseberries, and peel zest. Apple compote intermingled with bitter-sweetness of grapefruits. Touch of acacia honey and vanilla. Later on sugared almonds and fresh cedarwood. Give this whisky time to discover its multi-layered palate. It's fragile and complex at the same time.
    • Finish
Long and lingering with hints of cinnamon and a little clove. Ginger. Mint at the end. Well balanced Glenrothes IMHO.
