    • Nose
Grain; slight bitterness; fermented pear; Appeal of butter; Adhesive / solvent
    • Taste
Bitterness; Oak; fermented fruit pulp; Glue, slightly alcoholic
    • Finish
      Long and warm

(Blind) Nose: beautiful fruit basket with yellow flesh, even exotic.

Palate: powerful but balanced, candied fruit, very pretty! compact, small aftertaste a little metal on the final, but it's not bad at all, I love very ripe fruit.

It does not go easily but it's worth the wait. The mouth can be a little spicy and lose some points. Difficult to note
    • Nose
Very few even talking after about twenty minutes. A few fruits (loquats?), A chemical side, brown sugar and banana. Opens very slowly on a pleasant fruity: peach, persimmon, chirimoya, blackcurrant. Ah! it must have been patient but it's really worth it. Great after a big half hour.
    • Taste
Sweet, fruity and full of clove. A little tobacco and dough fine then we come back on spices and fruits.
    • Finish
Pleasant, spicy and slightly woody / dry

Nose: Wow! coconut, apricot marmalade, menthol, candied fruit, nutmeg, plum, nuts, apple, cooked pear.

Taste: Sour, sweet starter, apricot blast, orange marmalade, stewed fruit, fig jam, menthol, coconut and lightly wooded with spices and pepper

Finale: Red sugar, always apricots, orange marmalade, a fruity explosion but with well-ripe fruits and compote, light menthol and spicy spices on the end

    91-92 / 10
very, very beautiful ! Nothing to say perfect balance, a style I like, just lacks a bit of complexity and some sign of age more marked to be monstrous.

What shall I add? I've got the strange feeling that this might not be that old (around 20yo), but the cask did a great job. Well, a job to my liking, obviously...Tasted blind for whisky-distilleries.info WDTS:http://www.whisky-distilleries.info/WhiskyWDTS/index_EN.shtml
    • Nose
Starts on tons of apple crisp, vanilla ice cream scoop included. High end vanilla ice cream, actually, with grated vanilla and crystallized fruits. Sicilian Cassata. Turning to nougat ice cream. Yeah! Lot's of nougat. Just add a slice of tinned pineapple and you get something really yummy, providing the same kind of plain pleasure than, let's say, a 1979 Bourbon Glenfarclas or a nicely aged Glenburgie.
    • Taste
Yep. All that was said about the nose is confirmed here. The milky notes from the ice cream, the soft nougat, the high end vanilla… A little more spices too. And we shan't forget the pineapple! Lovely it is. And mellow too, with a nicely integrated alcohol (51%?).
    • Finish
      Same flavors last for ever.

    Simple and greedy. Very pleasant.

Tasted in blind under the WDTS
    • Nose
Dried apricots, peach syrup, floral touches
    • Taste
Concentrated and in the continuity of the nose. Nice balance between the aromas and the power of alcohol.
    • Finish
      Long and drying finale

This Glen Ord makes me smile because of the nose alone. Blind, I would give him at least 5 years more. For only 50 EUR, I daresay you should get a bottle.
    • Nose
The nose is reluctant, but after some hand warmth I get a nice perfume of young pears, grains, toffee and kiwi (that is a first!). Slightly dusty with fresh wood shavings. Candlewax. Touch of saffron. Do I detect a trace of smoke there? Surprisingly complex.
    • Taste
The attack is sweet and prickly. Gingerbread with marzipan. Sweet pretzels. Ginger and some pepper. Gets rather dark with leather and wax. Banana flambé. Does not need water, though.
    • Finish
The finish... ah... nice and long continuation of the wonderful palate.
