Exceptional malt. Very complex on the nose, with a beautiful balance of aromas. Equally good on the palate. This must have been an exceptional cask, because the balance is remarkable; even after 50 years of maturation, the wood is never overpowering.

Very balanced and complex, with interwoven aromas of very sweet dried fruit, dark caramel, spices, and ripe banana. Some malty notes are also present.
    • Taste
      96 96
The malt starts rich and full, with a syrup-like sweetness and lots of sweet dried fruit, especially soft Medjool dates. This is immediately balanced by incredibly well-integrated spices and a gentle bitter edge, reminiscent of gingerbread covered in dark chocolate. There are also lighter fruit notes, especially ripe dark cherries. The silky-smooth mouthfeel adds to the overall impression and underlines the syrupy sweetness. Perfectly balanced.

Long and lingering. The sweetness stays for quite some time before the dried fruits return, together with ripe dark cherries. A sweet milky coffee note also appears. Very pleasant.
