  1. St. Pauli Plus scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

Solid whisky. I've had cask samples of the same age. This whisky is on the verge of being maritime, to being increasingly earthy and spicy (sweet spice). This is displayed in the finish.

To me, I would like this whisky to be either younger (more maritime) or older (a tad more earthy). Still a very nice drop.
    • Nose
Faintly peated, slightly saline and mossy. A bit of band-aid, and very faintly, there is some iodine. Then shellfish, It stays green on eucalyptus and menthol, in that way it reminds me of Tobermory. Then, lemon juice, green apple, some rather youthful oak and toasted coconut.
    • Taste
Good balance between mild peat, maritime flavours of shellfish and a hint of tar, crisp lemon and apple, earthy notes of humus and leaf, eucalyptus and liquorice root.
    • Finish
Rather earthy than maritime now, although the peat is still present. Yet the liquorice root takes over, along with fennel seed. Then the aforementioned peat, shells, bitter lemon, green apple and a dash of pepper.
