- 1st tasting: A nose a little closed, dusty cellar, but I like that. A mouth of sherry, but a final less clumsy than the equivalent scotch, picotante. Off the beaten path.
2nd tasting: nose rich in red fruits, hazelnuts, nose, chocolate, hazelnuts and powerful wood in the mouth. final long enough for an irish
Sweet and fruity. A Little cereal. Hint of almond spice and marzipan. A little wood is also there, and together with some toffee and vanilla it makes it a primarily bourbon matured whiskey.
Sweet and easy arrival. Some toffee, some fudge. Overall quite sweet and a hint of sherry in the background. A little delicate
This should have been done without chill-filtration. Now it is a bit weak.
Medium length. Here comes some of the sherry maturation. It gives some nice red fruit and quite a dose of raisins. After that it is overtaken by some bourbon vanilla and toffee.
Nowaday's rather cheap. If you can find one around €50,- you should buy.
Don't know this was a sample
- Tasted during Norbert's Irish BOL10
- Typical Irishman with its artificial fruit notes in the nose. I like this. The taste is unfortunately a bit on the track. But the finish is better. Nevertheless, nothing, what I need as a large bottle. After the complete WSD I fix it to 84. It gets a bit too stinging over time, alcoholic although it has only 40%.
