There is only light cask influence, which lets the Loch Lomond spirit show its nature. This malt is well-matured, spirit-forward and without obvious youthfulness. Adding water only helps to open up the flavors. However I must admit that the nose was more fruity and had higher concentration of aromas, when I opened the bottle. In the next few months it became a bit flat. Anyway, it's another good selection made by Roy and Michael. Although in direct comparison cask 734 remains my favourite.

lemon juice, sour dough, unripe plum, a bit spirity. Later more sweet fruit: peach, melon, banana. In the first few weeks I could even smell a light artificial flavoring (in a good sense). Later on pineapple, malted barley, creamy and grassy notes.
    • Taste

fresh, crisp, zesty with almost all types of citrus (lemon, grapefruit, lime). Develops into nutty and grassy taste with light honey sweetness. With water more fruit and less edges. Surprisingly some cheesy notes. This is the best part of this whisky.

mid-long to long. More nuts and oak notes, floral and fruity notes at the background.
