A truly unusual whisky in terms of its colour (a slight green tinge!), smell and taste, but nonetheless very tasty. Perhaps not for every day, but for special moments.
    • Nose
Fermented grapes and smoke spread through the room as soon as you pour it. When you smell it, the green, slightly sour grapes are extremely dominant. The smoke behind it is reminiscent of a campfire and smoked ham with a rather dirty note. The grapes become more and more dominant over time, and the smoke disappears pretty much completely behind it. It takes a bit of getting used to, but I really like it right now. After a little more time in the glass, I get aromas of cut grass, peppermint and salty notes reminiscent of seaweed. A little honey adds a slight sweetness, but the malt is definitely still not really sweet. After the first sip, the honey becomes stronger in the nose, and then it actually comes across as sweet. The alcohol is very well integrated, only a slight note of menthol indicates the higher alcohol content.
    • Taste
Mild and oily on the tongue. The alcohol is incredibly mild for the young age and the high alcohol content - there is no burning sensation at all. I would have expected a lot more noise in the mouth. It is also much sweeter than in the nose, with sweet honey, and the grapes are also much sweeter in the mouth than when smelling. There are also hazelnuts, an intense campfire note and some oak spice. Really nice and everything very harmonious.
    • Finish
The smoke is now at its strongest in the medium to long finish, and here too the smoke is reminiscent of a campfire. There is also some oak spice and a fairly strong nuttiness. The malt then becomes drier, but the sweet honey comes through again and again. The smoke lingers on the palate for quite a long time.
