  1. Raistlinmejere scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

It needs to be decanted, and I decanted for 30 minutes. The flavor of the bourbon barrel is reflected in the aroma, but it is almost completely masked when drinking. The signature soapy taste will definitely please drinkers who like this taste, but I think the distinct soapy taste also weakens the complexity and layering of the tasting. Very good, but there is room for improvement.
The reference price is equivalent to approximately 333 Euros.

Similar to CDF's Bowmore 22 Years PX, but different. Similarities: rich aroma, with strong dried caramel syrup and black berry jam as the main notes. Differences: almost no peat, a slightly weak, unclear, but unignorable bright violet soap at the top, and very obvious crisp green apples below. The aroma harmoniously reflects the sweetest and most joyful smells of the bourbon barrel and the sherry barrel, with some Bowmore-style floral soap.
    • Taste

The alcohol is well suppressed on the palate, but the floral soapy taste is very obvious at first. The flavor is full and open, showing black berry jam and concentrated berry juice, which is sweet but not greasy, and complements the soapy taste. Some spicy taste begins to appear in the middle, but the spice taste is almost completely covered by the soapy taste, leaving only pepper, mint, lemon peel and cloves. The "soapy taste" of Bowmore in the 1990s is very obvious, the flavor is stretched and pleasant, but it affects the complexity.
    • Finish
      89 89
Grapefruit, blood orange, a bit of orange peel, and then finally some peat and sea saltiness. There is a lingering sweetness of candied fruit juice on the cheeks, and a little bit of tannin and seaside rocks in the back. Medium strength and long length.
