A wonderfully complex and multi-layered malt with an unbelievable "old-school character". This wonderful piglet was already bottled in 1986 for the 150th anniversary of Glenfarclas and shows impressively what a great dream material was produced in the good old days ... Like and thrilled!

    • Nose
Copper shimmers red in the Premium Snifter, a multitude of thick "legs" loosen from the oily streak that adheres to the glass wall. Raisins and old oranges rise, there is a minimal UHU or glue note which somehow goes wonderfully with the dark fruit note. Hints of dark herbs and a hint of liquorice, straw and hay followed by sweet cherries and brandy beans, chocolate and dark caramel come to the fore. The aroma of brandy beans becomes more dominant, cognac and dark chocolate, zest of orange peel and a hint of tart grapefruit, in the background there is a subtle old mint and a hint of menthol. The saliva is slowly stimulated, the nose reminds me of cough syrup or mild herbal liqueur ...
    • Taste
The first impression is relatively thin with tart and sometimes bitter components. Furniture polish, oranges, dark wood, dried grapes and berries create a subtle spiciness on the tongue. Furniture polish and dried herbs dissolve from cough syrup, the mouth feel becomes extremely dry, at the same time the saliva is massively stimulated. Sour cherries mix with old leather and a hint of tobacco, oranges and grapefruit come into their own again, menthol and old mint refresh the palate while the sharpness of wood envelops the tongue and massively stimulates the saliva. The mouthfeel is incredibly voluminous with a wonderful texture. Slightly tart wood tones stick to the palate, dark chocolate and a pinch of cocoa powder refined with espresso and a few splashes of grapefruit juice.
    • Finish
Tart wood tones stick creamy on the palate, abrasion from dried grapefruit peel trickles onto dark chocolate and hazelnuts, hints of resin and fir branches end in furniture polish and dried meadow herbs. Cozy warmth floods the palate, wooden spiciness sticks discreetly on the tongue, a hint of sour cherries and grapefruit end in menthol and old mint. I imagine I can perceive a minimal smoky note, creamy hazelnuts combine with cedar wood to create an incredibly intense note. The aftertaste is almost infinitely present and makes it seem as if it never wants to fade away.
