0291-GLENGLASSAUGH REVIVAL HIGHLAND SINGLE MALT SCOTCH Whisky 46%.
...I'm not happy. For me, it's too bitter, peppery, and has a strange nose, and the taste is difficult to digest. I repeat, for me, it's very average. It's inconsistent and overpriced. The bottle doesn't reflect the quality. I've had better blends in my glasses. The whisky is average, drinkable, but one-dimensional in terms of flavor and aroma. One bottle at a time.
    • Nose
...at first sniff, it's a bit strange. Alcoholic, sour, like a yeast mash. So far, it's not very appealing... but give it a chance and let's wave the glass left, right, around and upside down.
Five minutes later, I have the impression it's some kind of spirit liqueur, or a second-rate blend. Those initial light aromas have faded, or my nose has adjusted, because now I can smell a slice of cake soaked in alcohol, freshly cut apples, potato peels. There's also something I'm trying to pinpoint, but it's not pleasant. The first thing that comes to mind is... an ashtray or some other container filled with cigarette butts filled with water. This is the first time I've had this association. From the empty one, it's more cigarette-like, but also something sweet, like pipe tobacco. We're back to the full one—if the fruit is present, it's more currants and blackberries. I've somehow lost the will to continue smelling.
    • Taste
...sweet/bitter/stinging. Slightly nutty with a hint of orange. It reminds me of some strange herbal infusion. A bit like a young, semi-dry wine. The second sip – spicy and quite sharply piquant. Bitter, like burnt spices. Cold espresso that's been sitting unfinished for quite a while. Blackberry tartness mingles with tobacco smoke. There won't be a third sip.
    • Finish
... medium, with crushed peppercorns, bitter like unpleasant herbs with a slight honey aftertaste
