    Ferrari F310
The Italian Car Series is a range of whiskys with famous and infamous Italian racing vehicles on the label. The series originated from the creative brain of Jan Vissers. I have had the pleasure of tasting them all and here is the youngest in the series, only just released at the time of writing: Blair Athol 2010. Just look at that color. The label shows the almost legendary Ferrari F310 with which the equally legendary Michael Schumacher raced more in 1996, the year in which he left the Benneton stable for the Italian racing stable.
Excellent, creamy and deeply sweet nose on all kinds of sherry notes such as cinnamon, raisins, slightly burnt caramel, plums and chocolate, but also notes of coconut rocks and cloves. It already smells like a liquid dessert.
Very creamy and at the same time beautifully layered on rum-raisins, plums, walnuts and orange jam. Powerful and almost candy-like. This was an active, but very good keg, I think. Midpalate some spices such as black pepper and cloves appear, but also something herbal. And I admit, he goes in a little too smoothly for my liking. Dangerously quaffable, as I like to call it.
The aftertaste is nice and long and spicy sweet. Only in the aftertaste does a bitter note suddenly appear, which in my opinion goes just over the top and makes it a bit too dry, but that's easy to solve, of course... just take another sip!
Once again an excellent choice of barrel by Jan and associates. That bitterness on the aftertaste is forgiven very quickly and with great gusto.
