Two official Arran 10's today, both 2006[+] versions - one at 46%, the other at 57%
N: Familiar stuff. Barley leads the way with creme-de-nut, plenty of softened [oaked] wort and a little putty-meatiness.
T: Perfect strength. Orris root the main descriptor. Takes a while to switch from the quirky orris to a half decent, slightly salted, cereal maltiness, ooh and sweetened snow peas
F: A touch raw,....becoming more creamy with clear nitrous oxide from a whipped cream canister [excellent Ashley]. Becomes a little sweeter with some light carob. Fairly long finish with a nice, waxy-thin, barley mouthfeel coating and a creamy [almost whisked egg - merengue mix] yogurt at the death. Finishes most strongly.
C: Modest standard fair but not very distinctive. I did struggle with that arrival but the finish is fairly good, more so than the 57% version. Lets try that now. WB
