A great price-performance ratio for fans of old bourbon cask aging, because you get a mature bottling with a lot of quality without spectacle. It would be worth the 250 euros to me because you can't imitate the aromas of the almost 30 years and this age is traded for at least this price for a single cask.

I like the nose the most by far. Tight, but still solid 91 points.

The nose offers everything you could wish for from a mature bourbon cask aging with these key data and is wonderfully balanced. The aromas have the perfect blend of ripe vanilla, slightly rotten wood notes, barley sugar malt, furry peach skin, bitter banana edges, floral aromas of heather, creamy honey and light leather. No spikes or surprises, which is why such clean and mature bottlings are always between a minimum of 90 and a maximum of 92 points for me. Same here.

It gets a little sweeter with water and I find aromas of oranges, walnuts and plums. This enhances the whisky, that water elicits new aromas.

The palate starts quite unspectacular, but still intense and for the almost 49 percent extremely voluminous and full, without any mistakes or disturbing aromas.
What is very nice, however, is that the aromas, which can also be found in the nose, expand more and more and that a slight development takes place. Compared to the nose, the palate is a little less fruity and a little more woody.

With water, the palate becomes a little rounder and softer, but it doesn't need that.

The mouthfeel is soft but strong and herbaceous. There is light wood that is not too bitter. The palate is slightly oily but could be a bit more impressive considering the distillate.
