Conclusions. Chic whisky, mature, full-bodied and quite complex. Be sure to need good aeration and several sips at decent intervals, since it does not fully open immediately. After that, the drink becomes brighter, richer and cooler. Grade 89
    • Nose
Colour: Rusty brown with a coppery sheen.
Aroma: intense, rich. At first, sweet sherry fruits stand out (an abundance of black raisins and smoked prunes, sun-dried cherries), orange peel, dense dry Amontillado-type sherry with sourness. Then vanilla buttercream, dark chocolate, cinnamon, light perfume and floral motifs appear. After aeration and the beginning of sipping, tart-spicy dry fragrant herbs, wet old wood, and leather begin to prevail. A typical sherry profile, but for a PX it is still quite dry with not much sweetness. As if hinting at Oloroso. Long lasting pleasant, delicate, well integrated with decent depth. In a word - awesome
    • Taste
Taste: strong, plentiful. And here sherry is quite expressive. The first sip is rather dry with not too much sweetness for PX and moderately sharp spices accompanied by soft woody notes. In the future, sweeter dried fruits (raisins, smoked prunes, dried cherries in syrup, candied oranges), dry sherry, dark chocolate, a little butter cream, cinnamon, perfume, nutmeg are added. They are moved by dense tones of burnt sugar, leather and damp oak barrels, combined with a somewhat sharp tart-spicy bitter aftertaste of dry herbs, tannins and spices. Dry at the end. Just in moderation - both oak and sherry. Very good: soft, rounded with excellent balance.
    • Finish
Finish: long, sweet at the beginning, dry sherry, light creaminess, bitter chocolate, spices, some leather, plenty of soft woods. Slightly bitter, moderately drying tannins at the end. A worthy continuation of the taste.
