It is sparkling clean and well balanced. Nice Bourbon cask maturation. Very elegant despite all its power.

    Notes from a blind tasting.

It's unbelievable how well the alcohol is integrated here! You can tell he's over 60, but nothing burns, he never cries out for water. However, I would never have thought of Highland Park in my life, no heather, not even a hint of smoke, and so super clean. Very atypical, but the quality is good.
    • Nose
      88 88
Immediately after pouring, clear bourbon notes, rich vanilla, creamy. After a few seconds, very dry fruit notes appear, fermented, and a clear mineral touch, also clear acidity, vanilla and sweetness in general are pushed back. After a while the sweetness returns and a hint of garlic is also noticeable. Glass movement brings some unrest again with the notes already mentioned above, but more sedate than before. When heated, some fruit acid initially rises, then furniture polish increases. The alcohol tickles your nose. Later clearly fruity again and vanilla again. After the first sip, much more intense with yellow fruits and vanilla.
The following day I initially notice very clearly zesty citrus notes, lime or even grapefruit. However, these disappear after a few minutes.
    • Taste
      90 90
Immediately very sweet with delicate fruit acid and also clearly tart herbs at the front, grassy. The alcohol is extremely strong, yet soft in its development. Towards the end it dries significantly and becomes astringent. The mouthfeel is dense and oily. In the second sip it is rounder and the fruit notes spread beautifully throughout the mouth.
    • Finish
      88 88
The finish is rather long and starts off very dry. He's just getting milder slowly. Tart notes linger on the tongue for a long time. The chest area is warmed moderately. In the second sip it is also much more fruity, but it dries out as the finish progresses. This time it's medium long overall, with a slightly sweet filling that lingers in the mouth for a long time at the end.
