Flawed. Stank of chlorinated swimming pool. Bland stale barley water.

  2. Nebuchadnezzar scored this whisky 70 points Connoisseur

I wouldn't buy this whiskey even for drinking!

    Elvis Juice

Let's stick with the beer for a moment... This Teeling - a blend by the way - was finished in barrels in which rum had previously matured, then an IPA from DOT Brew (with which Teeling often collaborates) and finally this Irish Whiskey. How complicated it all is. But I'm not complaining, eh? Certainly not when you know that a bottle costs barely 42 EUR in our region. To work!

Strangely enough, on the nose this one initially reminds me of Elvis Juice, BrewDog's grapefruit-infused IPA. But with a little patience, more rum notes will emerge, such as brown sugar and even a little funky note. In the meantime, let me get away from that completely. So that's a strong start as far as I'm concerned.

The body is a bit light, it's true. And in all honesty, so is the taste. A bit sharp even, despite the very modest ABV. A hint of bitterness from the IPA shines through nicely, but I no longer taste any of the rum. Of course, that doesn't have to be a problem, if it weren't for the fact that it is a bit too one-dimensional in terms of taste. And really too sharp to please.

The aftertaste is medium long, stimulating to almost spicy. Soft drying, too.

Shame! However, the nose started very promisingly. But in taste and finish it leaves something to be desired. I don't think The King would have been happy with this. Thanks for the sample, Benny.
