    • Nose
      89 89
unobtrusive with fine, dry sherry notes and delicate oak aromas.
Hint of liquorice, idea herbaceous, grated green apple, a hint of aniseed far away. After a while, fine notes of sherry and oak remain interwoven with slightly herbal aromas. Subtle.
    • Taste
      89 89
pleasant, very pleasant, soft but also spicy, slightly herbal aromas, fine coffee and oak notes perfectly complemented by delicate sherry. Makes a round and balanced impression, even if not bursting with aromas.

Far from mass products and recent disasters.
Well aged, subtle and sophisticated, I like it a lot.
    • Finish
      88 88
with fine sherry notes, dry, delicate oak aromas, light fruit (yellow fruits), hint of sweetish and long-lasting.

      * With a few drops of water a little fruity, slightly perfumed, but also a bit spicy. Best enjoyed in small sips without adding water.

Pretty OK but indeed not very special for a Bunna 68
    • Nose
      89 89
Apples, red currant, wet hay, whiffs of oak wood, pepper, cloves
    • Taste
      87 87
Little punchy, fruity, little sweetness, more hay
    • Finish
      85 85
Long, warm, zesty, little more woody

Very, very good, but there's much better old Bunnahabhain out there. This one lacks a certain old-schoolness for a whisky from the 1960's, and the palate can't quite keep up with the excellent nose.
    • Nose
Light and delicate with subtle oak and a little less subtle fruits, like peaches, nectarines, pineapple, oranges and also green apple. Some light vanilla custard and the slightest touch of aniseed.
    • Taste
Somewhat oily. Sweet sherry notes with a malty touch. Mild brown sugar, caramel and a whiff of mocha. Some bitter oak and a light spiciness.
    • Finish
Light tannins and a slight bitterness transforms into a sweeter, fruitier ending.

Nice dry, woody whisky. To be fair, one has to say that the nose is very promising, but the taste can not keep these promises.
    • Nose
Vanilla, chocolate, herbal tea, meat broth, orange, sweet tobacco, leather, daisies.
    • Taste
Dry, wood, salt, walnut, a little ash.
    • Finish
      Medium long, woody, cocoa.

It's a good dram, but not a stunner.
    • Nose
In the nose it's not so clear but palate it is: refill sherry.  The nose is very subtle, slightly fruity.
    • Taste
The taste is almost the same.  A little bit of water makes the fruit rise more to the surfact but that's it.
    • Finish
The finish is long, soft and very pleasant.

For a 42yo sherried whisky with such color and aroma, it may be n-th filled and its cask lacks strength... The aroma is weak, together with its medium finish and less complexity. Fortunately it brings some fresh fruits and berries in mouth, which is my favorite tone. Should be a whisky belong to spring.
    • Nose
Toffee, light sherry, apple, pear, raisin, and grass. A little interference of alcohol. The aroma weakened within 10 minutes.
    • Taste
Tangerine peel, toffee, sweet malt, pear, berry, tangerine, and a little pepper.
    • Finish
Medium, berry, tangerine, chocolate, and a little tannic.

A nose with a lot of freshness and fruity peps. A fairly classic mouth, old sherry. But not too tired, or too woody. Too bad for this deviant note on the nose.
    • Nose
A real fruit basket from the orchard, lots of green apples. Freshly crushed cherry as well. A side menthol / anise very pleasant. A real surprise for a 42 year old whisky, what a youth! A bit of moldy orange in the background, too bad.
    • Taste
Ample, sweet, milk chocolate and mocha. A little orange. Light spicy.
    • Finish
Fruity, orange zest, currants. With roundness too, praline and milk chocolate. Long enough.
