802-TAMNAVULIN CABERNET SAUVIGNON CASK EDITION SPEYSIDE SINGLE MALT SCOTCH Whisky 40%
... As it is with alcohol - everything is theoretically drinkable, but I keep asking: WHY? This bottle is an example of this... although - if you are a fan of sharp wine climates and young liqueurs then maybe - I repeat - maybe you will find something for yourself in this bottle.
    • Nose
... pleasant, dessert, lots of berries. Considering the "modest" 40% and its young age, it's an encouraging start. Pears, apples sprinkled with cinnamon, plus apricots, nectarines, greengage plums and lots of raisins. It's so good I can't believe it. I put the full one aside and check what's in the empty one - it's not so nice here, pickled fruit, pickled ginger, cranberry meat specialty. A bit of dishwashing liquid. I go back to the full one - still fruity and its preserves. It's all a bit fermented like a fruit compote that has waited too long to be consumed. A drop of honey with a very "brown" banana
    • Taste
... the first infusion and the spell is gone - sweet and at the same time sour and spicy liquid - lined with a drop of water. Tart, a bit winey with a barrel-like charm. The second attempt starts with burnt sugar, very strong plum jam and ends with a wooden bitterness. Another sip somehow doesn't change anything here. A winey, tart taste is noticeable on the tongue. I didn't expect that.
    • Finish
... wooden, barrel-like, somehow blurred, thin, spicy, piquant and tart.
