I really like it, it certainly wasn't boring!

    Notes from a blind tasting.

So 1st fill bourbon would have been the last thing I would have suspected, and for an Arran the alcohol is surprisingly mild and well integrated. Very nice!

Immediately after pouring, yellow fruits and marzipan, delicate fruit acid rises from the back, slightly malty. After a few moments there are also floury apples and butter biscuits. After a few minutes of standing there are also notes of fermentation and some fallen fruit. Otherwise, the fruit notes go hand in hand with the crunchy creaminess. Even later ripe peaches instead of apples, also a slightly mineral touch, maritime. When warmed up, the fruitiness goes slightly into the citrus range, very sharp acidity and also some zestiness.
I can't really grab it, one moment I notice a clear sherry influence, slightly dirty, the next moment sparkling clean ex-bourbon.

Wow, wolf in sheep's clothing. Very strong at the start, honey sweetness with a bitter herb mix, add some menthol or licorice at the back. Hardly any fruitiness noticeable. In the second sip there is also fruit acid, the sweetness sets in a little later.
    • Finish
      86 86
The finish is initially dominated by honey and licorice, slowly becoming milder and lactic sugar. Overall medium length, moderate warm-up.
