N: Single malt calibre blend with good amounts of oak showing and flavourful nutty maltiness too.
T: The palate is true to the nose with an impressive solid delivery. Super balance between bitter/sweet & oak/spirit but its the oak complexity which is most evident, especially here on the tongue. So grainy is the development its as though one is licking the insides of the dry, rough oak barrels.
F: Good medium finish, true to form.
C: Active, high calibre presentation, clean with grit and determination. Certainly improved after opening. I liked this the first time i tried it and now i like it even more. Simple stuff made and matured well.
Scores a B-
N: Clean and rounded, light wood fungal and a yes, some E150a to my taste.
T: Toasted, woody, smoked liqueur, equally sweet and a little waxy. Really tasty cask character. A little ‘blended’ by nature.
F: Lightning quick finish but not before rich mocha enters and leads onto lush boozy chocolate - with water that is.
C: Good all-rounder with nice character/age. Happy drinking.
Scores a C+
