with water: ui, please leave out the water, with more than three drops it breaks down in terms of aroma

Conclusion: What were you thinking here? That was pretty much the worst Ardbeg in a long time and is not worthy of an Ardbegday bottling. I had it in the glass yesterday and did a cross-tasting with the Scorch, Groves and the Perpetuum. The Perpetuum in particular had disappointed me the most up to that point, but even that is a lot better than the Ardcore. Sorry, Ardbeg, I'm a real fanboy of this distillery, the marketing is good, the local people are world-class and the bottlings from 1974 are second to none. But with this bottling you definitely didn't make yourself and the fans around the world happy. punk rock? Yes, maybe when the neighbor's six-year-old daughter picks up her father's guitar for the first time - unfortunately nothing more

oh ha, it looks very young at first, the peat doesn't seem so typical of Ardbeg, it's more in the direction of Caol Ila with charcoal, also mineral and a bit salty, something "green" shimmers through, and only slightly lemony, the sweetness goes towards icing, plus a touch of fresh coffee grounds and a little star anise
    • Taste
      79 79
There's more Ardbeg involved here, sweet, ashy smoke with citrus punch, plus peppery, the coffee grounds and aniseed note from the nose are more pronounced here
    • Finish
      80 80
rather short, surprisingly short, ash, coal dust, subtle sugar sweetness, some salt, only faintly dry oak
