  1. SilentStill scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

A solid Sommermalt in good drinking strength, which does not have two faces, but has different characteristics in the nose and on the palate. Interesting in the positive sense of the word. A good beginner in the tasting evening.
    • Nose
Raisins, dark chocolate, slightly nutty aromas, the sherry influence is moderate, very slight sulfur notes, but does not bother. Overall, quite round and mild, as one wishes for a summer whisky in proper drinking strength.
    • Taste
More spicy and stronger than the noses would suggest. The 46% provide amazing power. Salty hints. The barrel has done a great job, but does not push itself too much into the foreground with wood notes. This 16-year-old Glenturret seems already mature. At the back, the salty notes mix with traces of dark chocolate and printen. Interesting mixture. The sherry influence on the palate "only" by a pleasant "heat" noticeable.
    • Finish
Pretty long and salty-spicy fading away.
