An uncomplicated and clean whisky that appears a bit older than it is. At 40 euros, it really is a very nice dram for lukewarm autumn evenings.

The nose is very beautiful and balanced for the age and at least 46 percent. The profile is a simple but dazzling sherry profile with fruity and slightly spicy flavors. There is actually a slight menthol note in the background.
The old whisky phrase fits here: what is there is good.

The palate corresponds one to one to the nose and the finish is short but not thin, although the red wine barrels can actually be guessed at the very back.

I personally like it better than some older Glenallachie bottlings. Looks older than 8 years. Has that eucalyptus/mint note that really suits him.

Wonderful addition to the core range of Glenallachie, the price betrays the good barrels that have been used and you can taste it
    • Nose
A multitude of scents, in terms of fruit smell banana, plums, blackberries but also tropical notes such as lemon mango, all topped with a good dose of honey, in addition chocolate coffee and cinnamon
    • Taste
Chocolate, coffee and behind that tropical fruit such as peach mango banana covered with a good dose of mint
    • Finish
Nicely mouth-covering, sweet and later quenched with mint.. wow!

Nice sherry malt. But the youth notices it in the taste. Nonetheless, it fits quite well.
The aroma for the nosing is really well developed, the taste is remarkable, unfortunately relatively weak finish. But you can still recommend it.
    [86 - 82 = good whisky -> get (second) bottle? Perhaps...]

Pickled plums and raisins, figs, dates, typical sherry notes. Forest honey, caramel, some vanilla.
Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Spice. Milk chocolate with dark chocolate pieces.
    • Taste
      86 86
peppery-spicy start, sherry spices. Bitzelt on the tongue and on the palate (you clearly notice the youth). Dried Fruits, Honey Flavor, Chocolate.
Second sip: more spiciness and spices, dark fruits, sherry, pleasant honey sweetness, dried fruits come through again. Juicy orange. Slightly bitter transition.
    • Finish
      83 83
gone relatively quickly. Nut aroma (the Oloroso comes through well). Dark chocolate/sweet chocolate. oak seasoning.

Sweetish, honey, spicy, slightly spicy ginger

Sweet, some notes of sherry, spicy wood, ginger spiciness

    Medium length, sweet and spicy

The spices stand out, but there's a sweetness and depth that belies its age.
    • Nose
Soft whispers of Werther's Original and molasses with some oak shavings and spices (ginger, nutmeg) in the background. Also bright notes of orange zest, almond nougat and toffee. A whiff of mint leaves in the end. It's not lacking for balance.
    • Taste
Creamy mouthfeel. The oak spices (presumably from the virgin oak casks) are fairly present immediately. Thinks cloves, pepper and ginger. A little too much for my taste, but they're generally balanced out by notes of toffee, fudge and raisins. Finally a touch of cappuccino and whole grain bread.
    • Finish
Lingering spices and sweetness. Pretty much an encore of the palate, but more mellow and with a touch of apple peel. Medium in length.
