Not very complex. Must be quite young.
    • Nose
      85 85
Subtle warm sherry, slightly nutty. Quite closed. At 60% ABV, I must imagine it would be able to take much water to open it up.
    • Taste
      86 86
Peppery for sure. Initial saltiness, then much sweetness. No specific fruits, just sucrose, which is usually not what I desire in a malt. Nevertheless, let's not mess around. Water time! Not much development in flavors, but I do detect some smoke now.

Peppery finish. Quite linear and simple. Not something I would recommend. To be honest, there is little reason to make this 60% ABV -- there's just not enough complexity here. Playing around with water does not help much. It's a good dram still, but for someone who drinks every night, I probably would not reach for this much, if at all.

Since it is not particularly deep and complex, it seems to have been rather younger barrels. But he has too high a price. From the PLV, no recommendation from me. Wild young. Water is a must!
    • Nose
      85 85
A bit musty with peppers, pepper and other spices he lays and flows through the nose with apples and quite fruity. Ok for a Glenfarclas.
    • Taste
      87 87
Salty, sour and very spicy with a light orange. Now the water is indispensable! The alcohol is too strict and the barrels were too young for me. Wood, leather and tobacco are added. This is good school. Respect.
    • Finish
      86 86
Already really long and sweet but still hot. With a woody plume of smoke he lets long fade away. Nutty at the end but always on the sharp edge. Not bad Mister Specht.

Joa, so the nose was almost 0, the strength leaves in the mouth nice place for trying out and here he wins.

    • Finish
Nutmeg and oak, a little bit the berry bushes, medium long, coffee, bitter

http://www.weinkenner.de/2014/glenfarclas-105-proof-aus-verschiedenen-jahrzehnten-33993/ Color: copper / rust red
Nose: very harmonious and balanced! Herbal sherry with lots of leather, dark fruits and aromas of red grapes. A peppery spice is added as well as roasted almonds, caramelized sugar, malt and sweetish bread flavors.
Taste: sharp, powerful and very salty. Sweet, cooked, dark fruits explode on the palate. Very appropriate to the elegant spice of black pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon and wood. In addition, fresh notes of black elderberries affect the taste very positively.
Finish: Pretty long - dry nut and wood flavors with leather, some vanilla and dried herbs make for a successful finish. Decaying with cocoa powder, wood and roasted coffee beans.
    91 points (nose: 91 / taste: 91 / finish: 90)
