  1. JoshNRW scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

If only Glenallachie would release more of such good sherry malts. 90 percent of the things from this distillery are too barrel-driven for me, but this one is a great, very fruity representative that brings a lot of sherry without being too heavy and at the same time still has distillery character.

The key data are a dream, 21 years and a pleasant 51.1 percent - perfect.
    • Nose
      91 91
Fruity sherry aromas, not heavy at all, more towards fresh plum, currant, tan leather, red grapes and pomegranate.

The longer it stands, the broader it becomes without losing its fruitiness.
    • Taste
      90 90
Continues where the nose ends and offers a light mint note in the middle part. Has a slightly tart bitterness, the sweetness is only subtle in the background. Dark bitter chocolate and some orange. Lots of distillery character.
    • Finish
      90 90
The mouthfeel is wonderfully intense and also very delicate. The finish is almost long, but could be a bit longer.
