Whisky Reviews for Ardmore 12-year-old
2 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 84.60 points
- A tasty whisky. It has a delicate smoky note and tastes incredibly intense of fruit. The post-maturation in port wine casks is excellent and gives the whisky a beautiful character.
- Ardmore 12 years, Port Wood finish, 46% alc. Original bottling. Aging: Bourbon casks, post-aging in port wine casks
Nose: Fruity with very delicate smoke aromas. I find strawberries, apples and honey, some Christmas cookies and echoes and freshly rolled cigars. Also mild orange marmalade and light spice aromas, some cedar wood. Very harmonious and aromatic.
Palate: The smoke comes out more powerfully. Charcoal smoke and open campfire. In addition, sweet apples, currants and citrus fruits, overall slightly sour impression. Then malt and honey, a touch of cinnamon and pepper.
Finish: Long and dry, the sweet fruit flavors completely disappear. Tobacco smoke and oak, bitter caramel notes and some pepper remain. The bitterness lasts longer.
Conclusion: A very multifaceted Ardmore with several twists and turns. 83/100 points (2022)
