Very rich in dark flavor, mouth, nose, throat, filled with all, love it.

Herbal chocolate mint spices , dirty sherry Ben nevis(in a good way) , dark fruits and figs some cherry and marzipan, I enjoyed that one

Pretty herbal and a bit bitter and weak in the end - works probably well as digestif like a Fernet Branca - just not so sweet and sticky - fortunately tasted from a sample as it is definitely overrated and totally overpriced too
    • Nose
      88 88
Plenty of dark chocolate, leafy and grassy notes, green fruits, carambole, coffee, toasted bread, burned sugar, cinnamon, woody, menthol, old books - pretty OK
    • Taste
      89 89
Oily, creamy, good sweetness, milk chocolate, more menthol, shoe polish, old furniture, spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, herbal, thyme, sage
    • Finish
      85 85
Medium long, warm, more herbal, a tad bitter

[March, 2019] 70 members scored this dram but not a single one stated a single word on how it tastes - what a shame!

So it is on me to remember the tasting dram (to test if I buy a bottle) that I had back in November, 2010. It offered an extremely bitter-astringent heavy sherry maturation that matured some ten to fifteen years too long. The sherry is very nice, but the taste is more that of liquid oak. I did not buy any bottle (the price tag was 299 Euro)...

Yea, Imp, Sir, you're right, it's annoying as hell to me as well.
Unfortunately, it becomes a trend these days.
I was gonna probably excuse these guys if they gave us some tasting notes or at least brag about a deal they got, instead, it seems to me, it just seems to me...they wanna get deals on WB rating points. How sad...

It is a real shame on a bottle as old as this that the only notes anyone has put down are telling us what the bottle is worth. Has anyone got any tasting notes for this?

I have no interest in what the bottle costs but I would love to know what it actually tastes like?
