  1. Archer scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

Certainly not a whisky that you need every day, but it is still very interesting, it shows a note on the tongue that you usually don't find in an Irish whisky made from Oloroso Sherry Butt: crispy baked rye bread.
    • Nose
      86 86
Starts with a clear note of peppered latte, vanilla pudding and caramel. Almond Chocolate. The alcohol is definitely noticeable in the nose, the nose should not circle too close to the glass. Raisin bread, leather and far in the distance a sulfur note that is so subtle that it is not a blemish.
    • Taste
      84 84
An interesting crunchy note that shows up on the tongue at the beginning. Almost looks like crispy baked rye bread. In any case, quite bready and quite unexpected for an Irish whisky from the Oloroso Sherry Butt. Tart notes of dark chocolate and coffee powder, very spicy with slightly heated marjoram and lovage. Grated hazelnuts and almonds.
    • Finish
      82 82
In the (short) finish, the aromas from the nose predominate again, although this bready note still resonates in the background.
