0501-MACKMYRA SPECIAL 05 HAPPY HUNTING SWEDISH SINGLE MALT SCOTCH Whisky 47.2%
...this version is on par with Motorhead's, or even worse. It's kind of... unfinished. It's more like a young grain rather than a typical barley malt. Sharp, herbal, and thoroughly spicy. That's my opinion, but as always, you don't have to agree.
    • Nose
...the yeast, and still working. Young, quite fresh. Slightly spicy. I'll leave it in the goblets to let the liquid "breathe." In the meantime, I'll check the empty one—surprisingly, there's no alcohol, no yeast, no leaven, or anything like that. More like wet moss, green tea with some sort of addition. A trace of rosin. Wet shavings. I'm going back to the full one—fresh, fruity, forest, and still with a hint of yeast. I suspect there's a lot of greenery here. Birch water, a tincture on pine needles. Forest meadow, a bit of dried herbs, the kind that hang in bunches "under the ceiling" and dry in the sun. Strange, young, and quite interesting.
    • Taste
...quite spicy, even sharp, wooden, peppery. Lacquered with a hint of wood glue. After the first sip - bitter, astringent, herbal, and dry. Actually, I could stop tasting it now... although I still have some left in the glass. Second attempt - again herbs, lots of pepper. In the mouth, like strong menthol bubblegum. Water with lemon, sage, and mint - only on steroids, i.e., with a touch of "electricity." Third time - nothing changes, maybe a hint of cranberry, like from a meat jar. A slightly tart and bitter finish.
    • Finish
...short, sharp, stinging, and now alcoholic. You can feel the youthfulness of the distillate squared. Herbs on the spirit. Bitter-green and drying.
