  1. rottendon scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

Lots of sherry, but not overpowered, despite the colour. Actually quite nice. Needs heat, without it it's as flat as Twiggy. Of course, the barrel does not allow any conclusions about the distillery character, the alcohol development suggests juvenile spirit, the amount of wood an octave or a similar crutch.

    Notes from a blind tasting.

OK, much older than expected. Otherwise as expected, everything can be.
    • Nose
      84 84
Contrary to the expectations aroused by the colour, the nose is initially absolutely dry. Wood and nothing else, altogether quite shy. Barrel acid, prunes in the background. After a while it opens up a bit, now there is a dark caramel sweetness and the plums are a bit more intense. Movement brings something old basement. Warmth helps, at first the tap acid is quite acute, which now rises out of the glass, then tobacco, later beet syrup.
    • Taste
      86 86
A little sweeter in the mouth, which I find difficult to characterize. Basically, I could also go with the prunes, with a clearly sour side note. The alcohol is very hesitant, but then quite strong, or rough. A little more sweetness in the second sip, fir honey, but still subtle. The acid is less prominent now.
    • Finish
      83 83
Surprisingly, the finish is rather short and initially acidic before a sweet strength note remains. He warms up nicely. Logically less acid in the second sip. Keep it short though.
