Meets my personal taste pretty well! Belongs to the category that I would like to have a whole bottle of on the shelf. A typical Bourboncask Speysider, but with a bit of individuality that makes it even more interesting.

    Notes from a blind tasting.
    • Nose
      88 88
Immediately after pouring it is initially clearly on the spicy side. Herbs or grass, wood, only hints of caramel in the background and a hint of fruitiness, but more of pickled fruits. A clear sweat note develops. After standing for a while, tender sugared pears, moss and still seem very dry. For me personally a very pleasant nose. Glass movement brings back the sweat and herbiness instantly. When it warms up, it initially closes, which is unusual in itself, then sharp fruit esters appear, which slowly round off and become malty and overripe pears. Later malt candy or Ovaltine. Becomes darker as the temperature increases.
    • Taste
      86 86
Very clearly burning at the start, noticeably sweet. When the burning has subsided, pear and malt can also be found here. Just a few herbs in the background. There is no burning sensation in the second sip, so I put it down to my daily routine and test again another time.
Addition: Even a day later, the onset is more than powerful in terms of spiciness, but the burning sensation is short and sharp, not primarily alcoholic, more like chili powder. This has nothing to do with weak alcohol integration.
    • Finish
      86 86
The finish is a gently drying and medium-long fade. In the end, pear peels stay a little longer.
