  1. Kantenmechaniker scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

Immediately after the 2004 he has a hard time and thanks to my personal preferences he loses minimal points. Whereby starting exactly meets my taste. Nonetheless, a great whisky that is mostly on the dry side of the flavors. In any case, great coffee flavors that I have rarely found in whisky in the intensity.
    • Nose
Compared to the 2004, a bit more reserved, spicy, possibly also slightly sweeter, milk chocolate with spices, there is a light woody note above everything, relatively nutty even in the nose, that gives me hope for more in the mouth, rather filigree on the way, which does not mean that it is lax, but it doesn't knock the aromas directly around your ears, the wood comes through even more when warmed up, slightly sour, briefly I have to think of Bircher muesli, roasted coffee beans, over time it gets drier and drier, the chocolate changes to dark, after the first sip the rather dry impression is confirmed towards the end, dark par excellence
    • Taste
ui, strong start, dry mouthfeel, here now strong raisins, dark bitters, the roasted aromas are there, but delayed and only play the second or third violin, a lot of coffee, oak, intense, does not need water, the second sip is a bit sweeter at the start , again massive dark fruit and in connection with it also sweetness and creamy, then it turns dry again, a really mouth-filling whisky
    • Finish
the aftertaste is very dry, seldom had so much coffee in a whisky, slightly fruity still astringent, a hint of nut still warming, stimulates lip-smacking, very long-lasting
